Our Methodologies

Why we started Timberbrook Builders

The building industry is broken. Speed and padded margins are pursued at the expense of quality and longevity. Larger buildings are a symbol of status at the expense of comfort and cost to maintain. Advanced building sciences are ignored for profit. Landfills are being filled every year with construction waste, with 145 million tons of waste in 2018 alone. It’s time for a change.

We’re a small husband and wife-owned company focused on this change. Tyler has been in the building industry for 15 years, and Alicia has been working in the business, design, and technology industry for the last 12 years. Together they lead Timberbrook Builders, a business focused on building and remodeling sustainable homes—serving the midwest region of the United States.

At Timberbrook Builders we believe that building a home isn’t about profit, production minimums, and margins, but about creating a space for people to thrive. We believe in building sustainably and efficiently, with an intentional focus on building comfortable, low-maintenance, people-centered homes and buildings.

We’re dedicated to putting in the extra steps that other builders cut out of the process to build or remodel homes that last. Tyler has been in the industry for 15 years and has seen it all. He’s been asked to come in and fix what other contractors leave behind in both the residential and commercial world.

“At some point people quit building with quality and craftsmanship in mind to make a quick buck. I’m not interested in being that kind of builder, I need to be proud of the work I do.” -Tyler Wrabek | Co-Owner of Timberbrook Builders

It’s this mindset that Timberbrook Builders was founded on. This is what has guided our three principles—quality, sustainability, and people-centricity.

Quality

We obsess over quality. Quality-first is what guides our decision making. You won’t find us cutting corners for the sake of speed or extra hassles. The homes we build are designed for longevity.

Sustainability

We need to build homes that last and are comfortable and better for the planet. Our commitment to sustainability shows up in our design and building processes. Our focus on sustainability helps us be more efficient and reduce waste.

People-centricity

Homes have a massive impact on the people that live within them and need to be intentionally designed for comfort and usefulness.
